MOUNT SEAVIEW 3 DAY 4WD ESCAPE
Where: Mount Seaview
What:

DAY 1

Escape the buzz of Sydney while travelling up to Mount Seaview Resort via Newcastle Freeway. The first stop will be the town of Hexham for morning tea before continuing on via the Pacific Highway to Kuruah and the Buladelah Ranges. Lunch will be enjoyed at Coolongolook before travelling onward to Coopemook via the Taree Nabiac bi-pass. Then we will visit Johns River and Herons Creek before joining the Oxley Highway at Wauchope and continuing via Long Flat to Mt Seaview.

This afternoon we will be met by our host at the Mount Seaview Resort for check in. Enjoy some free time while you relax and absorb the beautiful surroundings of this gorgeous Hastings area. Dinner will be served with a complimentary drink available from 6.00 pm onwards.

Following dinner enjoy a brief history lesson and some interesting facts about the nearby World Heritage National Park flora and fauna.

Overnight at Mount Seaview Resort (see inclusions below)

DAY 2

Following breakfast, today’s journey includes a full day, soft adventure 4WD safari to Werrikimbe National Park where you will visit the Yarras Rainforest Mill, producer of the internal wood paneling for Sydney’s famous Opera House. Step back in time with the rural village of Birdwood. View the tranquility and picturesque Forbes River plus the 100 year old rare Red Cedar trees laden with native orchards. Experience the natural beauty of the Werrikimbe National Park where you will see Pedemelon wallabies, rare pencil Cedar trees and giant Blue Gums and Brush Box trees laden with hanging Elk Horns. Walk through an ancient, cool temperature rainforest featuring Coachwood, Sasafras, Corkwood Prickly Ash and ancient Antarctic Beech Tree. Visit the Banda Banda Mountain Floral Reserve, a living museum of the world’s oldest ferns and primitive plant families that gave birth to present day flowering vegetation from millions of years ago.

Werrikimbe National Park is a world that grew in warp - a Jurassic Park of solemn Antarctic Beech trees unique to the world that were first grown over 50 million years ago when Australia was part of Gondwana and joined to Antarctica. The trunks of these fascinating trees are 40 metres high with roots over thousands of years old. Some trunks are 700 years old and when they break off a new one grows from the same root system. Visit Wilson River Flora Reserve, a unique sub-tropical rainforest, resembling an island and characterised by large buttressed trees of Carabeen Tallwood and Brush Box surrounded by Bangalow Palms and Pines. View hanging birdnest ferns, staghorns and native orchards. Visit the ancient Strangler Fig Tree and view the crystal clear waters within this pristine wilderness bordered by rainforest Cherry Trees that stand beside King Fern Trees and wild Roseberry Bushes.

Sound too breathtaking for words? Then wait until our return journey to Mount Seaview Resort via isolated mountain trails where you will spot flooded Gums and rare Pencil Cedar Trees and see some more magnificent views. The it’s a scrumptious barbecue dinner followed by a fun filled quiz and trivia evening.
